JDM Engines
Japanese-market imported engines. Confirm US-market harness, mounts, and emissions before treating a JDM code as a drop-in.
These listings are replacement assemblies sold independently of the original vehicle manufacturers. Year, make, and model get you close; VIN and engine code confirm whether the assembly is the one to ship.
JDM engine listings are Japanese-market assemblies identified by code—1JZ, 1ZZ, 1MZ, 1UR, and similar families in this catalog. A JDM stamp is not a US-market emissions or harness certificate. Oil pan, engine wiring, mounts, and related sensors often differ from the North American counterpart even when the code looks familiar.
Treat every JDM listing as a verification job: photographs, stamped code, and the recipient VIN. US D16, K24, and 2GR variants are cousins, not automatic substitutes. We do not list these as legal drop-in replacements for every US application. The shop doing the install has to confirm whether the assembly is a bolt-in, a swap, or a non-starter.
The JDM buying guide on this site covers code, wiring, and legality questions at a high level. It does not replace state emissions rules or a shop’s inspection of the crate. Freight is still US inland freight after the listing is confirmed.
