Pulled the L5P long block we ordered and it looked like the photos, which is not always the case when you buy a motor sight unseen. Pan and heads were what they listed. Shop did not have to chase missing parts that were supposed to be there. For the money it felt like we actually got what we paid for.

Needed a Gen 3 Coyote, not a Gen 1. Half the places online just say 5.0 and leave you to figure it out. Here the generation is in the title. Once I knew that, it took maybe ten minutes to get to the right listing.

Had it sent to the shop on 82nd. Pallet was strapped, crate was not leaning, and they actually called before the truck showed up. Shop has a forklift so receiving was easy. That is usually the part I worry about with engines.

Residential delivery with a liftgate because I do not have a dock. They asked about that up front instead of surprising me on the invoice. Engine was blocked in the crate. Neighbors watched the whole thing like it was a parade.

I was looking at the crate Coyote because it sounded safer. Guy on the desk asked what the car was and what I was actually doing with it. Pointed me at a used Gen 3 that matched the Mustang. Cheaper, and it was the right motor for the car.

Shop wanted a complete Duramax. Sales asked what failed. It was the bottom end. They said keep the turbo and buy the reman long block. That is what we did. Nobody tried to sell me a whole dressed engine I did not need.
