Warranty Policy

Limited warranty overview

This limited warranty concerns the engine assembly we sold, as described on the listing. It is a parts warranty. It is not an insurance policy, not an OEM manufacturer warranty, and not a promise that every accessory bolted to a used take-out is independently warranted. Rights you have under applicable consumer law are not excluded where they cannot legally be limited.

Used engines — 90 days

Unless the listing expressly states a different verified warranty, used engines are covered by a 90-day limited parts warranty beginning on the date of delivery.

Remanufactured engines — 180 days

Unless the listing expressly states a different verified warranty, remanufactured engines (including assemblies presented as remanufactured, professionally rebuilt, or refurbished in our catalog) are covered by a 180-day limited parts warranty beginning on the date of delivery.

Listing-specific warranty

If a listing expressly states a different verified warranty, that listing language controls for that engine. We do not invent manufacturer crate warranties. A crate or crate-style listing does not include a manufacturer’s warranty unless that listing actually states one.

Warranty start date

The warranty period begins on the date of delivery, not the date of order and not the date of installation.

Covered claims

Subject to the exclusions below, this limited warranty covers defects in the engine assembly we sold, including internally lubricated components of that assembly, that prevent the engine from performing its basic function as an engine when properly installed in a matching application. Coverage is for the assembly described on the listing, not for every part that may happen to be attached in a photograph.

Accessories

Used engines in particular may arrive with sensors, wiring, hoses, belts, mounts, or other external accessories as a convenience of the take-out, not as independently warranted items. Unless the listing expressly warrants those attachments, they are not separately covered. Missing or failed accessory parts that were never sold as warranted components are not a basis to reject the engine assembly itself.

Installation

Professional installation by a qualified automotive repair facility is strongly recommended. Warranty is not automatically void solely because a specific shop did not perform the install. Damage caused by improper installation is not covered. For a claim we may reasonably request an installation invoice, diagnostic report, photographs, maintenance and fluid documentation, engine codes, and other evidence relevant to the claimed failure.

Exclusions

To the extent permitted by applicable law, this limited warranty does not cover damage caused by improper installation; lack of lubrication; overheating; contamination; incorrect fluids; failure of external components not warranted with the assembly; misuse; racing or competition use; unauthorized internal modification; continued operation after warning signs (knock, low oil pressure, overheating, misfire that is ignored); or incorrect application caused by materially incorrect vehicle information supplied by the customer.

Claim procedure

Reasonable claim workflow: (1) Stop operating the vehicle if continued operation may cause further damage. (2) Contact us. (3) Provide the order number and SKU. (4) Explain the symptoms. (5) Provide diagnostic evidence we reasonably request. (6) Do not disassemble or return the engine without authorization where that can be avoided. (7) We review the claim. (8) Any approved remedy is communicated in writing. We do not make claims intentionally impossible, and we do not promise a replacement engine before the claim is verified.

Required evidence

Keep the invoice, delivery photographs, VIN used for fitment, and shop records. Claims without a paper trail are slower. We may request the evidence listed under Installation. Government ID is not required as a routine first step.

Remedies

If a covered defect is verified, we may, depending on the circumstances: review diagnostics; authorize a repair; replace the unit with an equivalent suitable engine; or refund where repair or replacement is unavailable or appropriate. We do not automatically promise cash reimbursement for every alleged defect. We do not charge a restocking fee on a legitimate approved warranty claim.

Labour and related expenses

Labour, towing, diagnostics, storage, rental vehicles, loss of use, and similar expenses are not reimbursed unless we agree in writing for that order.

Freight on warranty claims

Do not ship an engine back without authorization. Freight arrangements for an approved warranty remedy are communicated with that authorization. Buyer-remorse outbound-freight rules do not apply to a legitimate approved warranty claim.

Consumer rights

Nothing in this policy excludes rights that cannot legally be excluded under applicable consumer law. Where a limitation is not permitted, it applies only to the extent permitted by law.
